Crazy that Thanksgiving was just last week, now it feels like Christmas is almost here! Thanksgiving definitely went way too fast, but I enjoyed every minute of my beautiful day! Being with family and eating all day long, who doesn’t love that?!?! :)
I was in charge of the stuffing (which I did Gluten Free) and Pumpkin pies (also Gluten Free). I had tried out a few recipes beforehand to pick my favorite and this one won hands down! Creamy filling! You’d never know it was much healthier for you than a regular pumpkin pie! Tim basically ate most of it, he can’t get enough of it! Anyone else love to eat leftover Pumpkin Pie for breakfast? Well, I didn’t feel at all bad downing this knowing it was probably better than our cereal. :)
I also brought stuff for the kids table including placemats with games to do and color, with crayons from the Pinecone/crayon Turkey :)
My Sis did a fantastic job with decorating everything! I love these place setting ideas she did! Each plate had a paper envelope with a Thankful paper to write down what we’re thankful for, and on the front was our real name and Thanksgiving name…. I should’ve taken a picture of my own, but my name was Captain Stuffingpants and Tim’s was Salty Featherbottom. hahah Everyone’s was hilarious. Such a fun idea!!
Beautiful table
AMAZING food!! I couldn’t fit all of it in the picture… my favorite is always dark meat from Turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing! mmmmmm Anyone else a dark meat fan? It’s so much more tender and moist and juicy :)
I loved the food labels – Squanto Turkey cracked me up haha
Spence also loved the pumpkin pie, he dug right into mine, no fork necessary :)
There was a game for both the kids and adults to play… the one where you roll dice and unwrap a wad of wrapped gifts with gloves on and when someone rolls doubles, they take it and keep unwrapping…. and I’m (proud?) to tell you that I did not roll doubles ONCE the entire game… and it was long. I couldn’t believe it! I don’t like that game anymore ;)
PHOTO OP time!!! Last minute before coming over I thought how fun it would be to make some props to take some fun pictures!! So, I grabbed some foam board, felt and glue gun and made 2 pilgrim hats (man/woman), Native American, Turkey hat (from Target) and my favorite…. Pumpkin Pie!! Everyone was such a good sport as I made them put them on and pose muhahaha
I really got into my character :)
The pie looked so tasty she had to take a bite ;) little kids are not too fond of it tho…
any of the hats, spence wouldn’t keep it on haha. The big kids were more than eager to wear them and pose several times :)
Poochies also do not like to wear hats… or anything for that matter, haha. but it especially drives them crazy when something is on their head….
Take one……
Take two….
Take three……
And final take… 3 man job. yay!! Happy Thanksgiving!! :D
